In addition to pursuing independent research, candidates are required to satisfy the following requirements.
The coursework requirement for PhD programme is:
- Ph.D. - 18 Academic Units, with an average grade of B or CGPA of 3.5
(satu semester maksimal ambil 15??)
2. Ph.D. Qualifying Examination (QE):
Candidates have to undergo QE within 18th and 20th month of the candidature. Students must pass both parts below to confirm their Ph.D. or M.Eng. status:
(i) Graduate coursework with required CGPA, and
(ii) Completion of a report and an oral presentation
3. Thesis & Oral Examination
At the end of the programme, both Ph.D. and M.Eng. are required to write and submit a thesis, which will be examined by internal and external examiners. After which, students have to conduct an oral examination.
All Ph.D. students must have at least 1 accepted first author publication before these submission.

Registration period
It will be open from 8th Aug 2022 (Mon) 11.00am to 17th Aug 2022 (Wed) 11.59pm.
(Please note that this period is applicable for new students and existing students who have missed the registration or were unsuccessful during Registration Period 1.)
New matriculated students enrolling in Semester 1 AY 2022-2023 may access e-services (including Course Registration) after they are done with matriculation and when the registration starts on 8 August 2022.
You may add or drop courses during the Add/Drop period, within in the first two weeks of the semester. Any changes after the Add/Drop period will not be accepted.
All students are advised to check via their Student Intranet Portal before the end of the Add/Drop period to ensure courses have been registered / de-registered correctly.
If you wish to withdraw from any courses, you must submit your request to the school by 28 Oct 2022, otherwise a 'Fail' grade will be reflected in your transcript. If the withdrawal request is approved, 'W' grade will be reflected in the course result and transcript for the withdrawal course. In this case, the student is still liable for the tuition fee for the withdrawal course.
